At 132 lbs Raiden Montero entered the tournament as the #4 seed. In the first round of action, Raiden pinned his opponent to make the second round. There he would meet the #5 seed where he would lose that match putting him into the second day. Second day of action, Raiden would go on a three match win streak beating the #6&7 seeds of the tournament. Going for 3rd place and a shot at true second, he would meet the same wrestler who beat him in the first day only to come up short again. Raiden took 4th place.

At 195 lbs Brian Avina entered the tournament as the #4 seed. Brian made a charge through the first two rounds with impressive wins putting him into the second day and in the semi finals. Second day he faced a returning state qualifier and the #1 seed. Brian battled down to the last minute down by one and lost a nail biter. Now in the consolation semi finals he faced the #3 that was upset in the previous round and would also lose another close match. Brian ended up winning his final match to take 5th place.

At 182 lbs Jace Villapania entered the tournament as the #2 seed. Jace came out strong with two first round pins in dominating fashion to put him into day two. Second day he faced the #3 seeded wrestler and again dominating his opponent got a pin in the second round. Jace would face the #6 ranked wrestler in the state for the finals match. Again, Jace came out strong and had a 4 point lead going into the last round, but ended up losing in the end. Jace took 2nd place.
Jace Villapania moves on to the California State Wrestling Championship in Bakersfield March 2, 3, 2018. Jace is currently ranked #21 in the state with a 33-3 record on the season.
