Butte County Department of Public Works has scheduled crews to remove and replace several culvert pipes on Oro-Chico Highway between Durham Dayton Highway and Mesa Road, on Monday, February 26 and Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Crews are replacing these deteriorated culverts in preparation for a roadway chip seal application later this summer.

Due to the narrow roadway width in the vicinity of the work, it is necessary to temporarily close Oro-Chico Highway to all traffic (including vehicles, bicycles and emergency vehicles) each day workers and equipment are on this project, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. This closure will allow the work to be complete in an efficient and timely matter, and will improve the safety for both the traveling public and our field crews. Closure details include:

· Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, Oro-Chico Highway will be closed from Durham Dayton Highway north to 1156 Oro Chico Highway, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

· Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, Oro-Chico Highway will be closed from 1156 Oro Chico Highway north to Mesa Road, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, and to allow extra time in their schedule. Signage will be placed in advance of the roadway closure, to help motorists avoid the work area.

The Butte County Department of Public Works has been serving its residents since 1850, providing cost effective roadway maintenance services. The Department maintains approximately 1,300 miles of roadways, over 500 bridges and drainage structures and more than 18,000 road signs.
