It’s on to the playoffs for the BVL champion Gridley boys and girls basketball teams.
The Bulldog boys wrapped up the 2017-18 season at 21-5 after besting Wheatland last Friday night at home.
They drew the No. 1 seed in their bracket and will host the winner of a Wednesday night contest between No. 9 Yreka and No. 8 Live Oak Friday night.
Coach Chay Dake said he likes where his team is as the playoffs start.
“Guys know their roles and we’re playing really well,” Dake said.
The Bulldog girls (18-8) drew the No. 5 seed and were slated to host 10-16 Corning at Farmer’s Hall Tuesday night.
If they win, they will travel to Willows Thursday night.
Gridley’s girls wrapped up the 2017-18 regular reason last Thursday night with a win at Wheatland.
In other area prep playoff action, the Live Oak girls (15-7) were slated to host 11-15 Orland and the Biggs girls were scheduled to travel to American Christian Academy.
In boys action, the Live Oak boys, as before mentioned, were set to take on Yreka Tuesday night with the winner headed to Gridley Friday night.
