It was a mixed bag of results for the Live Oak High School basketball teams last Friday night at home against Colusa.
The Lion girls had the best time on the night, easily defeating the Red Hawks, 46-32.
With the win, the Lions improved to 12-5 overall on the 2017-18 season (3-0) SVL).
Later that night, the Lion boys wrapped up the Friday night doubleheader with a 73-45 loss to the Red Hawks.
The Lions fell behind out of the gate in this one, trailing 21-11 at the first stop.
The Lion boys fell to 8-9 overall in 2017-18 with the loss (1-2 SVL).
The Lion girls were scheduled to host Willows in another SVL contest Tuesday night.
The Lion boys were slated to travel to Willows.
Gridley boys 61, Oroville 47
Last Thursday night, it was the Bulldogs going to 16-5 on the 2017-18 season and remaining perfect in league play at 5-0 with a relatively easy road win over the Tigers.
Freshman Grant Tull led the way for the Bulldogs with 16 points. Tyler Little added 14, Brian Wilkerson chipped in with 11, and Brandon Lara added nine.
“Brandon stepped up for us with a couple of big 3-pointers at the end of the contest,” Gridley coach Chay Dake said.
The Bulldog boys travel to Las Plumas Friday night.
Gridley girls 53, Oroville 36
Friday night, the Bulldog girls also stayed perfect in league competition, going to 5-0 (13-8 overall) with the win at home over the Tigers.
Kennedy Tull led the Bulldogs with 18 points. Madyson Tull added 16.
The Bulldogs host Las Plumas Friday night.
