Jacob Holland will begin his full-time missionary service for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on February 1st. He will fly to the Johannesburg South Africa Missionary Training Center where he will study the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He will then serve in the Botswana-Namibia Mission, English-speaking, for two years.
Botswana is a landlocked country north of South Africa. While it is sparsely populated, it has seen good economic growth under its stable representative democracy. Namibia, also sparsely populated, gained its independence from South Africa in 1990 and has since maintained a stable parliamentary government.
Jacob will speak to the Gridley First Ward at 9 a.m., on Sunday, January 21, located at 400 Spruce Street. Jacob graduated from Gridley High School. His parents are Richard and Anita Holland
