The house at 3005-B Eighth Street in Biggs, believed to date back to the 1940's, owned by the City of Biggs was demolished Tuesday as part of the Family Park site expansion thanks to a $400,000 grant for development of City Parks. Water, sewer and electric are available at the site for a new restroom facility. The City plans to have the expansion completed by June of 2018. Cost to the City to have the house demolished was $52,250 which includes $13,750 for asbestos/hazardous materials abatement. Walberg, Inc., was awarded the contract with the lowest bid, the highest coming in at $70,877.
