On Veterans Day Saturday, November 11th a new major exhibit, A DECADE OF CHANGE AND WORLD WAR, inspired by the 100th Anniversary of U.S. involvement in World War I, will officially open to the public with a 2 – 4 p.m., opening event at the Butte County Historical Museum in Oroville.
The World War I decade saw profound changes in many elements of American culture and society which affected how many people lived their lives, and heralded major changes of the 20th century.
The exhibit, features the economic, technological and social changes in the decade that preceded the war. It includes many new exhibits, and some updated, showing how the decade of 1910 as experienced by Butte County residents.
The museum is at 1749 Spencer St, at the intersect of Baldwin and McClellan Streets. Guided tours for groups can be arranged by calling 533-9418.
