The Gridley High School football team suffered a stinging defeat on the road at Sutter last week, losing 56-14 to the BVL rival Huskies.
With the loss, Gridley dropped to 5-2 on the season (1-1 BVL).
But the Bulldogs move on this week, and have a chance to get back in the win column when they hit the road for Wheatland.
The Pirates are 0-7 on the season (0-2 BVL).
But Gridley coach Matt Kemmis and his team know they can't afford to take anyone lightly the rest of the way.
The Bulldogs are averaging over 300 yards in total offense this season, while Wheatland is averaging just over 100 yards per contest.
The Pirates are coming off a 43-7 loss to Oroville.
Kickoff in Wheatland is set for 7:30 p.m.
In other area action, Biggs (5-2 overall, 1-1 MTVL) returns to the gridiron at home against Maxwell and Live Oak looks to build on last week's first win of the 2017 season when the Lions travel to Pierce.
