Butte County Economic and Community Development Manager Casey Hatcher reported last week that the County has received proposals for various uses for the Butte County Fairgrounds. The deadline had been extended to September 29, 2017 and as reported in The Gridley Herald September 8, 2017, an addendum had been added to include clarification that development proposals had to include a plan to accommodate the annual Butte County Fair held each August.

The County originally issued the Request for Proposals August 9, 2017 looking for ways to redevelop the Butte County Fairgrounds to its best use.

Hatcher stated October 5 that a group of people will be gathered to rate and rank the proposals and to evaluate to make sure they match the criteria to move forward in an effort to better utilize the fairground property of 37 acres.
