Ms. Laquita Ulrich was introduced to the Biggs Unified School Board September 19, 2017 by Superintendent Doug Kaelin as the person he feels very strongly has the abilities and knowledge to move Biggs and Richvale Elementary Schools to another level of success.

Ms. Ulrich stated to the board her true passion lies in education and she is looking forward to partnering with students, staff and parents to provide students with a rigerous, engaging and high quality educational experience at both schools.

Growing up in Yuba City, Ms. Ulrich obtained her first teaching position in Marysville Joint Unified School District. Over the past 19 years, she has worked as a teacher and administrator in California and Arizona yet she stated that her most important duty is to be that of a child advocate. Her goal over the next school year is to spend time with students, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. Not only is Ms. Ulrich excited to be working with the students and staff but she looks forward to working with the parents and the community. Her motto is that, "We are all in this together."

Ms. Ulrich's goal is also to ensure that all children are healthy happy and safe, so they can achieve their highest learning potential. Looking at the whole child has always been her philosophy since beginning her career in education.

For students to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners, it takes a partnership of committed administrators, teachers, parents, support staff, community members and students.

"It is apparent that this belief is shared within the Biggs Unified District where the core values are: Academic Excellence, Respect for Human Differences, Cooperative and Caring Relationships, and Commitment to Community," she stated.

When not participating in school functions, Ms. Ulrich loves to spend time with her family and friends out on a golf course, in a yoga class or agility training with her Austrian Sheppard "Bella."
