It’s another busy week on the gridiron for area prep football teams this week.
Gridley travels to Paradise; Live Oak hosts East Nicolaus; and Biggs hosts Chester.
At Paradise, the 2-1 Bulldogs will be looking to maintain the momentum they picked up in last week’s big 55-0 win over Live Oak in the annual Harvest Bowl rivalry game.
It was the fifth straight win in the series for the Bulldogs.
But coach Matt Kemmis and his team are moving on and looking for more.
Gridley faces a Paradise team that is also 2-1 and coming off a 51-27 loss to Encinal.
At Live Oak, the 0-4 Lions will have their hands full as they seek their first win of the 2017 season against 4-0 East Nic.
Live Oak has scored just six points so far this season.
The Spartans come to Live Oak on the heels of their latest win, a 30-17 victory at Pierce.
At Biggs, meanwhile, the 3-1 Wolverines are clicking on all cylinders so far and have won three straight.
They’ll open Mountain Valley League play against rival Chester, which is 2-1 and coming off a 40-28 loss to Pershing County (Nevada).
The Wolverines defeated Foresthill. 42-0 last week.
Biggs coach Tyler Rutrledge likes how well his team is playing right now on both sides of the ball.
