The Live Oak Lions began the season with a loss to Williams, 49-6. The boys look to right that wrong in Durham tonight.

The Lions gave up seven TDs to Williams running back Miguel Boites, who had 182 yards in 17 carries for the night.

David Topete had the only bright spot of the night for Live Oak, a 60-yard TD pass from QB Carlos Palma-Grove.

The Lions won four section crowns during Coach Jim Arostegui's realm as coach in the late 1990's. Arostegui returned this year after Coach Dan Johnson stepped down.

Arostgui is pleased with what he's seen from his team so far during practice and stated "We've got some athletes."

The Lions will play Hamilton at home September 8 and then travel to Gridley for the annual Harvest Bowl on Friday, September 15, 2017.
