Anyone can fall. Do you or a loved one live alone? Gridley’s own Orchard Hospital has a non-intrusive program to help ensure the safety of those who live by themselves. A “telecare” caller will contact them with a brief friendly call each morning between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. If, by chance, they don’t get a reply they will get in touch with a designated neighbor to see that all is well. The program makes for peace of mind for members of the family, who may live out of town and are unable to check on things regularly themselves. Most of those who live alone cherish their independence but it’s good to “just be sure”. The calls are brief, but in several cases over the years they have been lifesaving. If you are interested in finding more about the program call 846-2030 or 868-1729.
