There will be a noticeable amount of increased free activities for children each day during daylight hours of the four day Butte County Fair August 24-27, 2017.

Besides Kids Imagination Fun Zone in the newly updated Butte Hall, Circus Imagination, Jeremy the Juggler, Whym Cycles, the Gypsy Time Travelers will be on hand along with Hoop Jams and Kinetic Parade. Zombie Wrecking Crew will be back this year for those who love zombies.

Samantha Valentine's Strolling Act, Engineer Ken with Rawhide Express and Becky's Creations will also be part of the fun for kids, sure to see many different strolling acts when they leave Butte Hall's Imagination Fun Zone.

The fair will open Thursday at 4 p.m., and Marty Martin will get things hopping for "Senior Day" with Local Team Roping beginning in the arena at 6 p.m.

The Miss Butte County Pageant also begins at 6 p.m., and this will be held at Courtyard Stage.

Livestock events will be going on all day each and every day so be sure to visit the animals.

"Industrial Drive" will be playing inside Jake's and the Ag Vocational Auction featuring Gridley FFA students amazing creations will be held in Expo Hall.

Friday will bring the Northern Heat Band to Jake's Country Stage, the Maxx Kaki Powersports Tractor Pulls in the arena at 7 p.m., following a full day in the livestock barn area, Midway of Fun carnival rides and don't forget the Knights of Columbus great dinner in the dining pavilion.

Mullet Mechanics will perform rock music on the Courtyard stage and on Saturday look for Blackout Betty also on the Courtyard Stage.

The Junior Livestock Auction begins at 1McClanahan Pavilion at 10 a.m., with 4-H and FFA kids selling their animals to some very generous bidders.

Kymmi & the Diamondbacks will perform at Jake's and American Thunder Monster Trucks and Thrill Show will be in the arena for a raucous good time.

After three days of plenty of entertainment and lots to enjoy such as the entries at the Flower Bowl, the Feather Room and Farmers Hall, Sunday will be a day of catching what you didn't have time to see before and ending the evening either with Inside Straight in Jake's, La Familia Day at the Courtyard Stage or the ever popular Demolition Derby starting at 7 p.m.
