With the school year winding down in very short order, students in the Indian Wells Valley are prepping a significant milestone: graduation.

The Class of 2017 will transition from high school or move up from middle school, taking a big leap in their lives.

Sierra Sands Unified School District, Ridgecrest Charter School and Immanuel Christian School released the graduation/promotion schedules for its students, most in two weeks.

Sierra Sands Adult School students will be the first to walk the aisle for their diplomas or GEDs at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 26 at Burroughs High School’s Parker Performing Arts Center, 50-0 E. French Ave.

Mesquite Continuation High School students will toss their caps at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1 at Mesquite High School, 140 W. Drummond Ave.

Students from James Monroe and Murray Middle schools will also hold their promotions to high school on June 1 at the Kerr McGee Community Center, 100 W. California Ave. The ceremony for Monroe students will be bright and early at 7:30 a.m., while Murray Middle School will promote its eighth-graders at 10 a.m.

Burroughs High School seniors will receive their proverbial sheepskins Friday, June 2 at 8 p.m. at the Burroughs High School football stadium, 500 E. French Avenue.

Saint Ann School eighth-graders will be promoted Friday, May 26 at 10:20 a.m. in at Saint Ann Church, 446. West Church Ave.

Ridgecrest Charter School will promote its students Thursday, June 1 at 5:30 p.m. in a ceremony at the Desert Christian Center, 100 E. Bataan Ave.

Immanuel Christian School promotes its eighth-graders Wednesday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m. at its worship center, 201 W. Graaf Street. ICS high school seniors will hold their graduation ceremony at the same location Thursday, May 25 at 6:30 p.m.
