On Wednesday, May 3rd, 5th graders at Biggs Elementary participated in the California Weekly Explorer Presentation of the American Revolution. Students dressed up in colonial outfits, brought props, and memorized lines for a whole reenactment of the American Revolution. There was the Continental Congress, Battles at Valley Forge, Concord and Lexington, and Trenton. There was also George and Martha Washington, Paul Revere along with Phyllis Wheatley and of course Benedict Arnold. The students got their parts after Spring Break and received extra points for their teams if their parts were memorized and acted in character. The students were all divided into teams: Red: The British, White: The Tories and Blue: the Colonists. The Tories this time ended up with the most points at the end of the game. It was an amazing time had by all.
