Jennifer Anne Ferguson passed away unexpectedly at her home in Willows, California, on March 27, 2017, at the age of 51.

Jennifer was born in Gridley, California, on March 16, 1966.  She graduated from Gridley High School and studied graphic design at Butte College.  Jennifer had many jobs over the years, but the work she enjoyed most was doing layout and production at The Willows Journal, The Appeal Democrat and The Sacramento Valley Mirror.  Jennifer was outgoing and friendly, and had a feature in the local paper, “Know Your Neighbor,” where she interviewed Glenn County residents.  Jennifer loved to collect things and was a very good cook.  She had many interests, but especially loved music - the harder and louder, the better.  She attended many concerts and would always find her way to the front of the crowd and stage. She considered a concert especially good if she sustained injuries from the mosh pit.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Tom, who died when she was 11 years old, and by her mother, Nelda, who died March 1, 2017.  One of the great losses of her life was Fritz, her first dachshund, who she loved and spoiled until the end of his life.

Jennifer is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Rau Ratana, of Durham, California; nephews, Thomas and Drew Ratana; aunt, Rosemary Gregory, of Madera, California; and cousins, Cindy Whipple and Candace Gregory.  Jennifer is also survived by Butter, her beloved dachshund, who she referred to as her “soulmate.”  A list of Jennifer’s survivors would not be complete without listing Jeffrey Tracy, Jennifer’s biological son who she gave up for adoption when he was born in February 1988.  Jeffrey reached out to Jennifer a few years ago, and she was so pleased to meet him and get to know him and see what a quality person he was and what wonderful parents he had.

Jennifer's many friends will not only remember her big, beautiful smile, but that she also suffered from depression and self-destruction.

There will be a pot luck celebrating her life on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at  2 p.m., at 6486 Co. Rd. 39, Willows.

All are welcome.
