A 38-year-old Yuba City man made his initial court appearance last Thursday in connection with the recent disappearance of a 16-year-old Live Oak girl.

Allen Gene Turner was arraigned in Sutter County Superior Court on charges of child stealing, oral copulation with a person under the age of 18, and unlawful intercourse.

Bail was tentatively set at $25,000. The Sutter County public defender’s office was appointed to represent Turner.

The 16-year-old girl, disappeared from outside a Live Oak church two weeks ago. According to the SCSO, she was found Tuesday morning of last week at a residence in the 700 block of Lincoln Road in Yuba City   in the company of Turner, whom she reportedly knew.

Turner was slated to return to court for a pre-trial conference on Wednesday. A preliminary hearing in the case was tentatively set for Friday.
