Linda Eidson Bagelmann grew up in Gridley excelling in sports, in particular softball, so it comes as no surprise that her daughter Kasey Bagelmann, will represent the United States in Aruba this summer as a member of the Athletes International Softball Team. A 2016 Center High School graduate from Antelope, Kasey is the granddaughter of Hank & Joe Bagelmann and Doug and Sharon Eidson of Gridley.

It comes as no surprise that Kasey would follow in her mother's footsteps thinking back to her Linda's glory days at Gridley High especially. Starting out in Tri Cities Softball before Gridley Little League took it over, Linda then played four years at Gridley High before graduating in 1987 followed by four years covering third base at Chico State.

Linda's Dad Doug and Charlie Pfister brought girls softball to Gridley High when there was no program and donated their coaches pay back into the program.

USA Athletes began in 1992, then called the Midwest All Stars, providing overseas opportunities for young baseball players.

Kasey is majoring in occupational therapy at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan and is a member of the Varsity Softball team and is a pitcher and first baseman. Her coach, Todd Buckingham will be the coach for the US team in Aruba and was able to extend the invitation to participate to three of his current athletes.

Kasey and her team will compete against teams from all over the world. Good luck Kasey!
