Chester is one of Biggs’ biggest rivals in pretty much every sport.

So it was especially sweep last week for the Wolverines when the Biggs baseball team went to Chester and won the Chester Tournament.

The Wolverines defeated Mercy, Maxwell and Burney at the tournament.

They opened the tournament with a 16-2 win over Mercy.

The Wolverines put this one away early, with seven runs in the first inning, three in the second, and six more in the third.

Kameron Smith land Brian Caro led Biggs at the plate in the win over Mercy. Smith was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Caro was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Mercy got its lone two runs in the third.

The Wolverines then moved on to a semifinal match against Maxwell, which they won, 5-3.

Hunter Roles was 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Wolverines. Caro was 3-for-3.

On Saturday, the Wolverines took the tourney championship with a 5-3 win over Burney.

Biggs got out to a 4-0 early lead in this one.

Eloy Ibarra led the Wolverines’ offense, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Ibarra also pitched a complete game to earn the victory on the mound and earn MVP honors.

The Wolverines have been playing some pretty good baseball as of late. They are 8-6 at just past the midpoint of the 2017 season.
