Flag Day was celebrated at Biggs Elementary School on Friday February 21, 2014. Flag Day is in always observed in June, but the Lions Clubs chose the third Friday of February to celebrate flag day while children are still in school.

The ceremony took place on the front lawn in front of the flag pole. The Biggs Lions Club gave each child a small American flag and a pamphlet of facts regarding the flag. The American Legion and Veteran's of Foreign Wars did a presentation of how the flag is folded and a member of the Gridley Lions Club explained what each of the 13 folds of the flag means. Then the school was presented a new American Flag and California State Flag. The children sang songs and said the pledge of allegiance after the new flags were in place. Biggs Mayor Roger Frith and several other community members were present for the ceremony.
