The 2013 Gridley Herald All-Local Football team

He pummeled through defensives week after week during his senior year, racking up 1,449 yards on the ground while scoring 16 touchdowns. Throughout 11 games, Nathan Callaway only had one game in which he was held to less than 100 yards rushing—against the Northern Section Champions, Maxwell High School. And his game wasn’t limited to simply running the ball either, as he scored three more times on receptions. But Nathan Callaway was a bruiser on both sides of the ball. Callaway accounted for 49 tackles on the season. He picked off the ball four times, returning three of those for scores and was named the Mountain Valley League’s Defensive Player of the year.
