Nathan Callaway totaled 52 points over the course of three games this weekend to lead the Wolverines to a first place finish at the Medici Logging Invitational at Westwood High School. The Wolverines outscored their opponents 189-86 in total at the tournament.
Biggs opened the tournament with a 59-26 blowout over Herlong High School on Friday. Callaway scored 19 points for the Wolverines, including four 3-pointers. Juan Castaneda picked up an additional 10 points, while Blaine Roles, Dalton Evenson, and Caleb Melton each scored six. Andrew Perez and Antonio Baeza both had four points, while Greyson Milburn and Shawn Smith had two.
Callaway led the Wolverines past Greenville in Biggs’ first game on Saturday with 18 points, while Perez scored 14. Castaneda had nine points and 10 rebounds for the Wolverines, while Melton had eight points and 12 boards. Roles scored eight points, and Smith had five. Evenson and Milburn both had four points, while Baeza had two in Biggs’ 70-38 win over Greenville.
Callaway had 15 points in the championship game, while Perez tacked on 10 points. Roles, Milburn, and Castaneda had eight points apiece. Castaneda also had 11 boards to led the Wolverines in rebounds. Melton had eight rebounds and four points, while Josh Scott and Baeza also had four points. Smith added a 3-pointer to the Wolverines 64-32 victory over Hayfork for the championship.
Biggs (6-2) will host their own tournament this weekend starting Thursday, December 19 though Saturday, December 21.
