  • Maryjane Carlson passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, Wash.
    Maryjane was born in Scott Bar to George and Gussie Noonan. Her school years were spent living with family in San Francisco and returning to Scott Bar during her summer vacations. After graduation from Galileo High School, she attended the University of Oregon.
    During WWII she enlisted in the U.S. Navy. She was a Navy nurse, stationed in San Diego. It was during the war that she met Robert Carlson, who was in the U.S. Coast Guard at the time. She and Bob were married and eventually settled in Yreka.
    Maryjane was an avid bowler and could be found either bowling in a league or working at Sis Q Lanes. For many years she was the junior bowling coach. She enjoyed weekly bridge games and loved going to the casino to play the slot machines.
    Maryjane is survived by her son, Larry, and his wife, Colleen; her daughters, Lori and Linda; and her husband, Ray. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Neal; Ryan and his wife, Kelly; Tara and her husband, Tyler; Taylor, Logan, Zachary and Matthew; and her four great-grandchildren Josey Jane, Grace, and twins, Morgan and Hannah.
    She was predeceased by her husband, Bob, and her newborn daughter, Terry Lynn.
    Services will be held at Girdner’s Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18. Military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
