A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel, in Gridley for Wanda M. McVicker, 82 of Gridley. Wanda passed away on December 6, 2013, in Chico. She was born July 31, 1931 in Turkey Ford, Oklahoma to James and Pearl Stanley. Wanda was a long time resident of Gridley, having worked many years at the Bank of America and Gold Country Bank. She was very active in the community having volunteered with Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital Pink Ladies Auxiliary, Gridley Garden Club, Gridley Women’s Club, Dols of Yuba City (Daughters of Leisure’s), and Bank of America retirees Association. She was a member of Gridley Presbyterian Church having served as a Deacon, and was also a member of Women of the Moose. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Milt McVicker, three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by one son, Don (Sherry) McVicker of Gridley, California; one daughter Rhonda Ragain, of Atascadero, California; one brother Winfred Stanley, of Etna, California; two grandchildren, Andrew (Carrie) Ragain, of Atascadero, California, Matthew (Melinda) McVicker, of Live Oak, California, and five great-grandchildren. Pastor Brant Smith from First Presbyterian Church will officiate the Funeral Service. Family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 414 G St., Marysville CA 95901. Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
