A Graveside Service was held Friday, September 6, 2013, at the Gridley Biggs Cemetery for Delphy Palmer, 98, of Biggs California. She passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital.

She was born on January 3, 1915 in Leola, South Dakota, one of 12 children born to John and Edith Lapka.

Delphy was a long time resident of E. Biggs having worked at the Libbys Cannery for many years. She also farmed almonds and walnuts with her husband Harlow. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening, and most recently her Tuesday trips to the casino. She was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death, by her husband Harlow, eight brothers, three sisters and one son John Palmer.

She is survived by one daughter, Carrie (Jay) Werner, of Oroville; seven grandchildren; nine great-children and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Rosary was recited on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.

Deacon Doug Tokuno of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiated at the service.

Interment was held at the Gridley Biggs Cemetery.

Family suggests contributions to the Sacred Heart Food Closet or a favorite charity.

Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
