In other Gridley FFA news, the officer team and advisors took an officer retreat to Truckee River to bond and plan the upcoming year. The team was exposed to difficult team building challenges that required them to work together as a team to achieve a goal. The officer team, composed of 7 members including Katie Paredes, President, Abigail Pfister, Vice President, Samantha Waterbury, Secretary, Austin Howard, Treasurer, Tyler Wilkerson, Reporter, Jackson Becker, Sentinel, and Clara Rudd, Historian. The team has been working hard all summer to prepare exciting meetings, create educational FFA boards in each classroom, and inputting new ideas to increase member participation. To improve meeting participation, the officer team came up with ideas to get members, especially Green Hands, involved such as scavenger hunts, name that tune, and pumpkin smash. This year the Gridley FFA Ag Department welcomes a new Ag teacher, Niki Flosi. Ms. Flosi will be teaching Ag Earth Science, Ag Biology, Ag Mechanics, and Horticulture. Even though she’s just starting, Ms. Flosi has brought great ideas to improve our program. Ms. Flosi has decided to establish and create a Parliamentary Procedure team! Gridley FFA can’t wait for the exciting upcoming year!
