  • Two killed, three injured in Highway 119 crash

  • Two people were killed and three more suffered major injuries in a head-on collision on Highway 119 just north of Dustin Acres Saturday.
    The crash occurred at 11:55 a.m. about halfway between Golf Course Road and Tank Farm Road.
    The crash involved a GMC Sierra pickup and a Chevrolet Malibu.
    The right front seat passengers in both vehicles were killed, a California Highway Patrol sergeant said.
    The driver of the Malibu was airlifted to Kern Medical Center and the driver and a second passenger in the truck were taken to KMC by ground ambulance.
    All three suffered major injuries, firefighters said.
    The accident was expected to keep the highway blocked until at least 2 p.m.
    Details of the accident, including the identities of the people involved, were not immediately available.
