  • On August 23, 2013, BINTF Agents, with the assistance of the Butte County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit, served a search warrant at 195 Wakefield Drive, Oroville. Pursuant to the search warrant, Agents located and seized a large spool containing at least 2,500 feet of detonation cord (a high explosive used by the military and in commercial blasting applications), apparatus and chemicals used to manufacture concentrated cannabis oil (commonly referred to as “honey oil”), approximately 2 grams of methamphetamine and several used methamphetamine pipes, four firearms (two shotguns, one rifle, and one 9mm handgun), ammunition, marijuana packaged and prepared for sale, a small amount of hashish, seven hydrocodone tablets, and 48 large growing marijuana plants. Agents arrested James Wellman, age 64, for possession of explosives, manufacturing cannabis oil, possession of methamphetamine, possession of prescription narcotics without a prescription, felon in possession of firearm and ammunition, and possession of marijuana for sale. Agents also arrested Kristian Wilson, age 41, for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The detonation cord was released to the Butte County Bomb Squad for dispo
