After a week of competition that featured more than 1,500 contestants from all across the United States, Canada and Australia, Mason Mardesich and Luke Pfister finished in third place overall in the Team roping competition at the 65th Annual National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) on Saturday night at the Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Mardesich and Pfister finished with a Team Roping average time of 32.82. The boys and their California teammates finished fourth overall with 6445 points out of the teams from 41 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia. Mardesich and Pfister earned a ticket to the National Championship after taking third place at the California High School District 3 Rodeo, then placing fourth at the California High School Rodeo State Finals.
