Business Improvement District representative Jerry Fichter (right) is pictured receiving a donation from Kathy Neal of the Gridley United Methodist Church. The money was raised at the Church's Red Suspenders Day, Krispy Kreme booth. All profits, over $200, were donated to be used for improvements, such as a drip irrigation system. The church supports the efforts of this group to help people raise their own healthy food. It is the church goal to help others in the community that need it. According to Charla Sutherland, chairperson, the Business Improvement District's Community Roots Garden is at the moment completely filled, with all 18 plots being used. If anyone is interested in donating or wants more information they can call 846-3687. If anyone is interested in helping with the Methodist Church projects you may call 846-4949.
