  • Local athletes to receive Gold Sox All-Metro awards

  • The Marysville Gold Sox released their 2nd Annual High School All-Metro Award winners last week. Several local athletes will receive their awards at the 2nd Annual All-Metro Sports Awards Night to be held at Appeal-Democrat Park in Marysville prior to the game on Sunday, May 26, 2013.

  • The Marysville Gold Sox released their 2nd Annual High School All-Metro Award winners last week. Several local athletes will receive their awards at the 2nd Annual All-Metro Sports Awards Night to be held at Appeal-Democrat Park in Marysville prior to the game on Sunday, May 26, 2013. Gridley High School baseball players to receive awards at the ceremony include Sammy Cota, Kyle Duran, and Quinn Spring, while Megan Anthony, Fraine Cox, and Mikaela Ponciano from the Gridley High School softball team will also be awarded. From the basketball season, Gridley’s Tyler Abrego and Ashtyn MacFarlane will be honored, as will Live Oak’s Romario Acosta, Aaron Pamma, and Anijah Clark. Gridley’s David Gomez, Alfredo Martinez, Ernest Orozco, and Live Oak’s Joel Cibrian, Edgar Diaz, Ishmael Esparza, and Sal Vargas will receive the award for their performance on the soccer field this past season. Live Oak football players Romario Acosta, Andrew Lopez, and Aaron Pamma will receive the award. Volleyball players to receive an award include Gridley’s Madison Mardesich, Ashtyn MacFarlane, Biggs’ Billie Pruitt, and Live Oak’s Taylor Benzel. The ceremony will be located at 429 10th Street in Marysville. Tickets for the game and ceremony are $5 for general admission, $7 for premium, and $10 for VIP. Gates will open at 4:30 PM and the award ceremony will start at 5:00 PM.
