The Migrant and Seasonal Head Start programs provide quality childcare for children four-weeks to five years of age for free-of-cost to low income families that work in agriculture related work such as produce, canning, and packing plants.
E Center Classrooms and Family Child Care Homes are open 11 hours a day, 5 days a week during harvest time (pending seasonal crop patterns). All facilities provide comfortable, pleasant, and safe settings that foster an enriched environment so children can enjoy a healthy, nurturing, learning atmosphere. In addition to loving care from highly qualified teachers, children receive bilingual instruction, kindergarten preparation, nutritious meals and services for the well-being of the entire family.
Migrant & Seasonal Head Start also provides assistance in obtaining medical and dental services with access to child development assessments for vision, hearing, anemia screenings and vaccination follow-ups. Children with disabilities are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for prioritized services.
E Center celebrates and respects your child’s cultural heritage. The majority of our staff is bilingual in English/Spanish or in English/Punjabi to assist children in their home language and in the introduction of the English language.
We offer services in eight counties in Northern California (Yolo, Colusa, Yuba, Sutter, Butte, Tehama, Glenn, and Lake) and receive applications year-round. If you would like further information please call E Center Head Start Program Office at 1-866-417-4255.  We look forward to serving you and your families.
