It’s back! Orsua and Byrne Fight Promotions will put on the sixth edition of one of the premier attractions in the area—NorCal Combat VI. The amateur MMA card will feature several local fighters, as well as fighters from all over the North State looking to make a name for themselves in the MMA scene. Headlining the event will be the unveiling of both the NCC Lightweight title and the NCC featherweight title. Rich Storelee (1-1) of Chico will battle it out with Ashton Pierce (2-1) of Corning for the Lightweight title. Storelee received his one victory in a first round TKO against Michael Arvisais at NCC V. Pierce had a victory by split decision at NCC III, and his other win came by way of submission. For the Featherweight title, Team Hard Knocks’ Jarred Allen (2-1) faces Tyler Holbrook (1-0) from Team Fury. Allen picked up both of his wins by submission, the first at NCC III and the second at NCC IV. Holbrook picked up a win by unanimous decision at the last NCC event. Come watch local fighters and teammates Joe Ruggirello and Johnny Terry represent Team Byrne and the Gridley-Biggs area. Ruggirello (2-1) will take on Cory Carrino (1-2) of ADSEG Fight Team at the Bantamweight division. All three of Ruggirello’s fights have been at NCC events, with his all loss coming from the undefeated NCC Bantamweight champion, Benito Lopez. Terry (1-3) will fight Alexander Fazleev (0-1) from Team Intense at the Flyweight division. Terry picked up his first win at NCC III by submission at 1:39 in the first round. Fazleev was defeated by Ruggirello by TKO at NCC V. There will also be several fighters debuting at NCC VI, including both fighters in the first ever NorCal Combat female fight between Veronica Carousos and Gabriella Rios. Come watch as these modern day gladiators bring the crowd to their feet with non-stop, hard-hitting action. This is not an event you will want to miss, so buy your tickets today because four out of five NCC events have been sell-out shows! The event will be held at the Butte County Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 27. Gates will open at 6 PM, with the event kicking off at 7 PM. Tickets start at $35 with VIP at $75. Tickets can be purchased at the Butte County Fairgrounds Box Office, or by calling 530-846-3626. *There have been some changes to the card lineup since this article was written and published.
