  • Robby Byers is much like any three-year-old in that he is very active and inquisitive. Robby is Autistic which means he has high anxiety and tends to wander or bolt away from his parents Travis and Andrena Byers of Biggs. Living next to a 20 foot deep canal, it is especially scary for his parents because he runs towards it every chance he gets. Those who have visited Goforth Moulding are familiar with this big canal and understand the fear for these parents. Robby's parents heard about "Pawsitive Service Dog Solutions," and the work they do with service dogs. These dogs are not only scent trained (just in case Robby breaks away from the dog) but they also are trained to nuzzle up to a child with some pressure to keep him from getting into trouble. Robby will soon have to go on a Gluten free diet and the service dogs are even trained to alert if a child is eating something he shouldn't. Robby has a five-year-old sister Mollie. The Byers' are trying to raise $10,000, which is 100 percent tax deductible (and half the cost of training a dog) so that their son can have his own service dog to also help with Robby's meltdowns to help calm him down. This pet will improve the lives of this local family so that they can feel like a normal family. Donations can be made at any U.S. Bank, written to either Travis or Robert Byers or mailed directly to Pawsitive Service Dog Solutions, PO Box 383, Olivehurst, CA 95961 or visit their website at www.pawsitivesolutions.org and click on the "donate" button and type Robert Byers in the memo area on the Paypal so that it goes directly to his service dog. Checks can be made out to Pawsitive Solutions and on the memo area write "Robert Byers' service dog." Any questions can be answered by emailing Andrena Byers at andrena_womack@hotmail.com or calling 530-403-8203. Email contact information to Andrena to receive a receipt for your donation. The Byers' family is very appreciative to those wanting to help and assure that the service dog will live with them as long as his health allows.
