A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013, 10:00 pm at Gridley Block Funeral Chapel for Granville (Bob) Bailey, 90, of Gridley. Bob went home to be with the Lord on March 23, 2013, surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born December 10, 1922 in Malvern, Arkansas.
Bob served in the United States Navy from September 1943 to March 1946. He retired in 1984 after 32 years of employment at Sunset Molding Company in Live Oak.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen (45 years); parents and his four brothers, all from Malvern, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Betty Bailey of Gridley; two daughters, Annet (Jerry) Hodges, and Alechia (Rick) Hodges, all of Live Oak; one grandson Micah (Alison) Hodges, of Live Oak; three granddaughters, Heather Hodges, of Palo Alto, Haley Hodges and Shannon (Ryan) Landes, both of Live Oak; one great-granddaughter Brielle Landes, of Live Oak, one step-son David Byrd, of Malvern, Arkansas.
A visitation was at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel Thursday evening March 28, 2013 from 5-8p.m.
His son-in-law Jerry Hodges will officiate the services.
“Love is not a big enough word to describe our feelings for you and we will truly and honestly miss you every day for the rest of our lives. Thank you for being such an amazing husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, and friend to all you met. You will be missed forever, but NEVER forgotten.”
