The work of many individuals and groups will be evident Saturday, March 30 as the Gridley Business Improvement District hosts their first anniversary event for the Community Garden at the south end of Washington Street from 10 a.m., to 2 p.m.

The celebration will include a renewal of rental garden plots with raised beds to choose from along with a Master Gardener to speak, a Fairy Garden Workshop and a representative from Cal Fresh on hand.

Many thanks to Green Thumb Garden Club the latest sponsor of the Community Garden.

Nicole and Jessica of "People to People" will be serving their special dessert named "Dirt."

Eagle Scout Adam Law and his fellow scouts poured concrete last weekend as part of his Eagle Scout project along with cleaning the area.

Gridley FFA members are building the planter boxes for the Fairy Garden and the Daisy Girl Scouts will be participating Saturday.

Vegetable seeds will be given away and everyone is invited to attend this celebration.
