Gerald “Jer” Henry Conrad Jr., a 52-year-old resident of Snohomish, Wash., unexpectedly passed away on March 6, 2013 at his home.
Jer was born on Aug. 22, 1960 in Yreka to Gerald “Jerry” Sr. and Karna (Karstensson) Conrad. He grew up in Yreka until moving to Barstow, Calif., where he graduated from high school in 1978. He worked as a mechanic in the automotive industry in Barstow, then in Seattle and Monroe, Wash. He loved to watch his sons play baseball and his daughter dance. Jer was a great fisherman and still holds the state record for the largest Mackinaw Lake Trout caught at Lake Bonaparte in northern Washington state. A life-long San Francisco Giants fan, he was thrilled to see them repeat as World Series champions in 2012.
Jer is survived by his two sons Josh Conrad of Las Vegas, Nev. and Andrew Conrad of Snohomish, Wash.; his daughter Kimberly Conrad of Mukilteo, Wash.; and his sister Kaarin Conrad Hedberg (Jim) of Sammamish, Wash. Jer will be greatly missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life party was held in Seattle in Jer’s honor. If desired, donations may be made to ASPCA or to an organization of your choice.
