  • A Grenada man was arrested yesterday in connection with the Feb. 23 hit and run of a 24 year old Mount Shasta man.
Dennis Mark Greenman, 42, was arrested around 4:30 p.m. at his home on March 5, said Mount Shasta Police Department Chief Parish Cross.
An anonymous tip led police to Greenman, who is on searchable probation, Cross said. Enough evidence was obtained during a search to make his arrest.
Cross said the make and model of the vehicle that Greenman was driving when he is suspected to have hit Gabe Cashman is not being released at this time, however, it has "been secured" and the Department of Justice will be conducting a detailed forensic examination of the vehicle.
Greenman was booked into Siskiyou County Jail, charged with felony hit and run, violation of probation and resisting/delaying the duties of a police officer.
Greenman made $15,000 bail Wednesday morning, March 6 and was released from custody, according to Siskiyou County court records.
Cashman is continuing to recover from injuries, including a broken femur, two broken vertebra, a punctured lung, 18 broken ribs, and lacerations to the head and body at a Redding hospital. He was hit and dragged about 25 feet while walking on McCloud Avenue in Mount Shasta around 12:30 a.m.
A father and son driving by saw Cashman lying in the road and alerted police to the accident, Cross said.
