  • The Biggs Community Hall was packed Saturday night as friends and fellow students of retired band director Royne McGinnis paid tribute to his 32 years with Biggs Unified School District.   • RETIRED BAND DIRECTOR THANKED – Friends and family of Royne McGinnis joined former students in the “Roast” sponsored by the Biggs Lions Club as a fund raiser for scholarships held at the Biggs Community Hall. Biggs Lions Club officers were introduced by fellow member, Master of Ceremonies Mel McLaughlin. McGinnis had his own dance band in the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's before entering into city government serving as Mayor 1995-1996 and on Biggs City Council a total of seven years.
