  • Many improvements have been completed at the Gridley Boat Ramp by the City of Gridley which include a new concrete boat ramp, parking area, boarding floats, restrooms, sewer lift station, fish-cleaning station, slope protection and drainage and lighting, signage and secure access.
Secure access means entry cards are simply flashed before the scanner and an arm raises for access. The mechanism is advanced enough to recognize if a vehicle is towing a trailer and the length of the vehicle and/or trailer so that the arm waits a sufficient amount of time before coming back down.
The access cards are even used at the handicap accessible restrooms to ensure that only card holders are able to use the restrooms.
This $935,000 project was funded through a State Department of Boating and Waterways grant derived in part from taxes paid by boaters and fishermen.
Access cards can be purchased at Gridley City Hall for $25 for the first access card and sticker, $10 per year renewal fee, $5 for an additional sticker with the same address, and $5 or change of vehicle ownership.
Many new additions will make the visit to the boat ramp an enjoyable one such as the floating ramp with handles to use when entering or exiting a boat and the new launching ramp for vehicle access.
