  • The Ridgecrest Police Department welcomed Officer Eric Clinton into its ranks Wednesday at a swearing-in ceremony in the chief’s conference room.City Clerk Rachel Ford administered the oath of officer to Clinton, who is replacing former Officer Chet Rosser.Clinton was born in Los Angeles and graduated from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Academy in 2011.Chief Ron Strand said the new officer enjoys outdoor activities.He reminded Clinton that the badge is a symbol of public trust.“I just want to thank my family and friends who have been there for me and helped me get through this process,” Clinton said. “I’m going to strive to do my absolute best to uphold the image that I am displaying here for the department.”
