Orville D. Harp passed away December 10, 2012 at the age of 91. Per his request, there will be no service.
Orville was born August 9, 1921 in Boise, Idaho to Dewey and Thelma Harp. He graduated from Bieber High School in 1939 and Chico State College in 1944. After graduation from college, he taught elementary school in the Gridley School District for 40 years and at the beginning of his career even drove the school bus before teaching class. He retired in 1985. Orville married Bettie Castro in 1945. Orville loved to go hunting and fishing and spend time with his family. He was a 70 year member of the Lassen Lodge No. 149 Free and Accepted Masons.
Orville is survived by his wife, Bettie, two sons Robert (Lynn) of Chico and Richard (Karen) of Gridley, four grandsons, and his brother, David Harp, of Cottonwood.
Orville is predeceased by a brother Burton Harp, who lived in Oakdale, California.
