On Tuesday, January 29, 2013, Gridley-Biggs Police Officers, along with members of the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force (BINTF) assisted the Sutter County Narcotic Enforcement Team 5 (NET 5) at 1155 Indiana Street, Gridley regarding the service of a search warrant for narcotics.
During the service of the search warrant officers located and seized $23,875 in US currency, approximately one pound of suspected crystal methamphetamine, approximately one kilo of suspected cocaine, items consistent with the processing of powdered methamphetamine into crystal and items consistent with the possession for sales of controlled substances.
Arrested as a result of this investigation Santiago Salazar, 39, was arrested for violation of sections 11366 of the California Health and Safety Code (maintaining a residence for the sales of controlled substances), section 11378 of the California Health and Safety Code (possession for sales of controlled substances) and possession of two firearms.
Due to health concerns, Salazar was released on a citation to appear on the above referenced charges.
This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are anticipated.
