Nature and bird enthusiasts of all ages are welcome at the 14th Annual Snow Goose Festival of the Pacific Flyway on January 26 & 27. This festival is a celebration of the migratory birds that winter in the Northern Sacramento Valley, including geese, swans, cranes and many songbirds and raptors.
Admission is free to the festival headquarters and various events on Saturday and Sunday at the Chico Masonic Family Center, 1110 W. East Ave. Bring the entire family and enjoy exhibits along with a host of free activities, including junior naturalist activities, viewing of live raptors, special showings of the video “Raising Kid Colt: A Story of a Young Sandhill Crane,” as well as free presentations on bats and the Volcanoes of Lassen Park.
The Festival also offers over 60 workshops and field trips that run Thursday through Sunday and reach out into 6 counties, covering everything from hiking the Sutter Buttes and visiting wildlife refuges to owl banding and photography.
