News to Know
Police have announced that a lone suspect was responsible for yesterday's Clackamas Mall shooting near Portland, Ore. The 22-year-old shooter was identified as Jacob Tyler Roberts, who apparently took his own life as police swarmed the building. Two victims, Cindy Ann Yuille, 54, and Steven Mathew Forsyth, 45, have died, and a third, Kristina Shevchenko, remains in serious condition. The shooter ran through Macy's and into the mall's food court wearing a ski mask and wielding a rifle as patrons hid behind counters and clothing racks. Surveillance footage from mall security cameras is being examined by investigators as they try to piece together the details of what occurred.

Quote of note
"North Korea is only further isolating itself by engaging in such provocative acts. Devoting scarce resources to the development of ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons has not brought it security and acceptance by the international community — and never will. North Korea will only truly strengthen itself by abiding by international norms, living up to its commitments and international obligations, and working to feed its citizens, to educate its children, and to win the trust of its neighbors." -- Statement from Natonal Security Council Spokesman Tommy Vietor on North Korea’s missile launch.
