  • The Military Veterans Court of Honor Committee, Gridley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5731 and American Legion Post 210 are to be congratulated on once again, hosting a memorable musical tribute to veterans.
On November 12, Veterans and their families gathered at Veterans Memorial Hall to enjoy the beautiful sound of the Oroville Community Concert Band, directed by Jim Christensen.
Boy Scout Troops 24 and 48 presented the colors.
Jim Moll of Oroville was Master of Ceremonies and led the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Pastor Rick Cunningham who gave the invocation.
Favorites such as “Patriotic Overture,” “Washington Post March,” “Fugue on Yankee Doodle” and America The Beautiful were just a few of the many selected for the performance.
The Oroville Concert Band is a group of very talented musicians and Gridley is lucky to have them come share their talents, both at this venue and at the Memorial Day Services at the Cemetery.
