  • More than 150 employees Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) left today bound for Westchester, New York to help restore power in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. This includes 16 PG&E employees from PG&E’s North Valley Division. The workers come from PG&E yards in Chico, Redding, Burney and Paradise.
Crews from all over PG&E’s Northern and Central California service area departed from Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento this afternoon. More than 60 PG&E trucks and trailers were placed on flatbeds and are enroute to New York from PG&E’s Davis yard – a 55 hour drive.
PG&E is sending overhead and underground maintenance and construction crews, electric first responders who determine the cause of an outage and how best to restore power, and damage assessment personnel. The utility will also send logistics support and field safety personnel.
