  • 1. President Barack Obama, the 44th president, was elected to a second term on Tuesday.
    2. Obama will be inaugurated for his second term on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.
    3. In his win over John McCain, Obama captured 365 Electoral votes. He didn’t receive that many this year, however.
    4. Obama’s second-term Congress will look familiar: the Republicans retained control of the House on Election Day, and Democrats retained control of the Senate.
    5. Obama is the third president in a row to be re-elected.
