  • Betty passed away in Carmichael, California on October 22, 2012.
Born in Chico, California on October 18, 1930, she grew up in Gridley, California.  Betty attended Gridley Union High School and excelled as a student and a leader.  She graduated in 1949 and was instrumental in organizing her class reunions including her 60th reunion in 2009.   Go BullDogs!
Betty had great passion in her position as an administrative assistant for both the Grant Union and San Juan School Districts until her retirement.  She particularly enjoyed attending the various school activities at both school districts.  She also enjoyed managing, organizing and attending softball games in the Carmichael Girls Softball League.
Betty loved to cook for family and friends, especially authentic Italian and Mexican food and, of course, her famous rolls and pies.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Sam, and sisters, Bessie, Bonnie, and Joyce.
She is survived by her children: Elaine, Karen, Susan (Michael), and Carl (Toni); her grandchildren: Kevin, Ryan, Amanda, Isabella, Giovanna, and Antonio; and her loving friend and sister, Selma.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Carmichael Oaks Senior Living for the care and compassion given to Betty in her final days.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at 12 noon on Saturday, November 3, at the Carmichael Elks Lodge at 5631 Cypress Avenue.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s name to the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento, 3555 Auburn Boulevard, Sacramento, California 95821.
